Student Life
We believe that learning is about more than what is taught in the classroom. It is about the educational experience a child enjoys through hands-on learning in a variety of situations including field trips and extra curricular activities. Our students have the opportunity to explore and develop their unique talents and gifts through athletic and fine arts programs, student organizations, and "buddy" programs including intergenerational ones with residents at Advent Square, a senior resident community located adjacent to the school campus.
On-Campus Activities and Organizations
At Advent's Life Enrichment Center, students have the opportunity to take creative movement, karate, yoga and baton classes. Elementary and Middle School students can also participate in on-campus student organizations such as Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
Community Service
Students are encouraged to participate in numerous community service opportunities at school in partnership with the church, and after hours. For example, they support the Village of Hope School in Haiti with financial contributions offered at chapel and at special events. Students also give back to their community through a variety of Christian service projects including Advent's Annual Day of Giving.
Buddy Program
Advent Lutheran School runs a buddy program for various grade levels throughout the school year. The 8th graders team up with the Kindergarten class to share reading, holiday activities, and chapels. The 7th grade teams up with the 1st graders for fellowship and academic assistance. The 6th graders visit our senior citizens at Advent Square on a monthly basis. And our 5th graders buddy up with our Pre-Kindergarten students for fun and fellowship.
